Coordinate Systems

Cadenza supports a very comprehensive list of coordinate systems for working with geodata. The maximum extent is predefined for each of these coordinate systems and cannot be adjusted.

To optimize the use of maps for specific purposes, you can customize the coordinate reference systems (SRS) available in Cadenza:

  • Defining additional coordinate systems

  • Mapping coordinate systems, if a data source assigns its own ID

Default Coordinate Systems

The following coordinate systems are available by default:

  • EPSG:3857: WGS 84 Pseudo-Mercator. Valid worldwide.

  • EPSG:4326 (Decimal): WGS 84 geographic coordinates in decimal degrees. Valid worldwide.

  • EPSG:4326 (GMS): WGS 84: geographic coordinates in degrees, minutes, seconds. Valid worldwide.

  • EPSG:25832: ETRS89 / UTM Zone 32N. UTM zone for the western part of Germany (can also be used for all of Germany).

  • EPSG:25833: ETRS89 / UTM Zone 33N. UTM zone for the eastern part of Germany

Optional Configuration

Customizing available coordinate systems is available by default and does not require a specific Cadenza feature to be enabled, but requires the following configuration:
